CERTIFIED ORGANIC
Organic certification ensures that this product has been grown and processed according to strict standards established under the Organic Foods Production Act of 1990. Before a product can be labeled Certified Organic, farmers and processors must meet several important requirements:
No prohibited or harmful chemicals may be applied to the land for at least three years prior to harvest.
Farms and processing facilities must undergo annual inspections by an independent organic certifying agency.
Detailed records of farming and processing practices must be maintained and available for review.
Farmers must follow a written organic management plan that outlines how organic standards are upheld.
These guidelines help ensure the integrity, traceability, and quality of certified organic products from farm to final product.
